A family-run B&B on the quiet edge of Simon's Town, five minutes' walk from Glencairn Beach.
About the Property
Simon's Town Guest House is run by Steve and Amanda Conradie in Cairnside, on the approach to Simon's Town rather than in the town centre itself — about 4 km out, on the quieter side of Glencairn. Steve brings a naval and tourism background from the area, while Amanda, originally from Australia, previously ran volunteer projects in local townships; together they run the place personally rather than through outside staff.
Five en-suite rooms, each with its own private sitting area and several with False Bay views, are named after African wildlife — from the ground-floor Kambaku Room to the honeymoon-suite Shawu Room with its floor-to-ceiling ocean-view windows. Breakfast, with both a cooked and a continental option, is served in the guest dining room or on the sea-facing patio.
Glencairn Beach is a five-minute walk away, and the guest house sits within reach of the Cape Peninsula's best-known draws: the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach, whale watching in False Bay from May to November, shark cage diving between February and September, and deep-sea fishing charters out of Simon's Town Harbour.
