Boulders Beach House, Simon’s Town

Boulders Beach House is a family holiday home at 185 McFarlane Avenue in Boulders, on the Simon's Town side of the Cape Peninsula. It is split into two self-catering units, each with its own private entrance. The 3-bedroomed holiday home sleeps 6. The 2-bedroomed Lookout penthouse apartment sleeps 4. Each unit has a wrap-around wooden deck that looks out over the ocean.

Boulders Beach is a few minutes' walk downhill, and the Boulders penguin colony is about 10 minutes away on foot. The house also makes a good base for the far south of the Peninsula: Simon's Town's restaurants, museums and galleries, Kalk Bay, Muizenberg and Noordhoek, hiking at Silvermine Nature Reserve and Cape Point, and wine or a picnic at Cape Point Vineyards.

The two units suit different groups. The holiday home has a private pool and an indigenous fynbos garden, and a connecting single-bed room with a kitchenette that the owners set aside for children. The Lookout has ocean views from every room and a loft with a desk and pull-out bed. Because of its staircases, the owners say it is not suitable for small children. Both units have fully equipped kitchens, DSTV, WiFi, linen, bath and beach towels, and secure garage parking for one car each.
