Dorp Hotel

Dorp Hotel was created by Gail Behr, and it reads more like an eccentric private residence than a conventional hotel. Individually designed rooms and suites — seven categories in total, from Classic Rooms to the top-tier Grand Suites — are scattered through a property built around gardens, hidden courtyards and a restaurant with city views, on Signal Hill directly above the Bo-Kaap.

Beyond the rooms, Dorp runs its own on-site boutique of curated local designer pieces, event spaces for gatherings, and wellness services, alongside the Sunlit Salon where breakfast is served. The whimsical, nostalgic design touches throughout reflect its creator's own hand, rather than a corporate house style.

Its position on Signal Hill puts guests within walking distance of Bo-Kaap's cobbled streets and brightly painted houses, one of Cape Town's oldest and most photographed neighbourhoods, while staying just minutes from the city centre.
