Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge

Chitwa Chitwa was originally a private retreat of the Brink family, who have held the land for over four decades, before it became an exclusive game lodge in 1991. Charl Brink remains a central figure in the property's story, and the lodge takes its name from an elderly giraffe bull that became part of the lakeside homestead the family built here.

The lodge is built around the largest lake in its part of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, with lounge and dining areas, a sunset deck and a rim-flow pool all positioned to look out over the water where wildlife gathers. Guests choose between the six Chitwa Suites, the family-sized Charlsy Suite, or Chitwa House, an 800 sqm exclusive-use villa with its own chef, butler and safari vehicle.

Access is through Gowrie Gate, near Kruger's Orpen Gate, and the lodge blends what it calls classic bush style with a more contemporary look, alongside a village tour and bush dining as part of the guest experience.
