A Cape Winelands luxury lodge and hotel on Helshoogte Pass, built around a 400-piece private art collection, three restaurants and Michelin-Key-rated hospitality
About the Property
Delaire Graff Estate is a luxury lodge and hotel on Helshoogte Pass between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, created by diamantaire Laurence Graff and built around six accommodation categories — Garden, Luxury and Superior Lodges, two Presidential Lodges and a 660 m² four-bedroom Owner's Villa with its own infinity pool and private chef. The estate's own site describes it as "established in 2008," and it has since become one of the Cape Winelands' most recognised addresses, holding two MICHELIN Keys and Relais & Châteaux membership.
The estate doubles as a gallery: more than 400 works from Laurence Graff's private collection — including pieces by Nelson Makamo, Vladimir Tretchikoff, William Kentridge and sculptors Dylan Lewis and Anton Smit — are displayed through its restaurants, lodges and gardens, the latter designed by horticulturist Keith Kirsten across 350-plus plant species. Dining runs across three restaurants: the Delaire Graff Restaurant for bistro fare with Banghoek Valley views, Hōseki for contemporary Japanese cooking under Head Chef Virgil Kahn, and Lorenzo's for Italian food among the gardens. The Wine Lounge offers tutored tastings of the estate's award-winning portfolio, including the flagship Laurence Graff Reserve, on a terrace with Simonsberg Mountain views in summer or fireside in winter, while the Delaire Graff Spa pairs treatments with Augustinus Bader skincare.
"Delaire Graff Estate is a place of exquisite natural beauty. We look forward to welcoming you," says founder Laurence Graff — a welcome that extends to an on-site Graff jewellery boutique, the brand's only location on the African continent outside its home markets.
