About the Property
Dream Beach Self-Catering Lodge sits on a three-hectare wooded estate in dune forest, 2.6 km north of Ponta do Ouro and roughly halfway between the town and Ponta Malongane. It is run by Tony Dovey, and a manager is on site daily. A wooden stairway and walkway leads down to the beach, about 300 m from the houses.
The lodge has 22 units and sleeps up to 62 guests. Standard and Deluxe Chalets sleep 2, cottages sleep 4, and the sea-view houses sleep 6 with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Houses, cottages and Deluxe Chalets have air conditioning, while Standard Chalets have ceiling fans. Units are serviced daily with linen provided, so bring your own beach towels. Unit prices run from R1,000 to R3,500 per night, per unit.
Facilities include a swimming pool, communal and private braai areas, Starlink WiFi, 24-hour security and free parking. The Kosi Bay border post is about 10 km away. Access is by sand track and the lodge recommends only 4x4 vehicles. Kwangwanase (Manguzi) in South Africa, about 25 km away, has a Spar, a Boxer wholesaler, ATMs, KFC and a chemist for stocking up.
