A 47-acre working wine estate on Franschhoek's Main Road, pairing three centuries of winemaking history with an on-site art gallery and two restaurants
About the Property
Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate sits on 47 acres along the R45 Main Road in the Franschhoek Valley, its vineyards framed by the surrounding mountains. The estate's own history runs to what it calls "Three Centuries of Stories" — one of the older working wine estates in a valley first settled by French Huguenots in the 1680s.
Stays are split between the Owners Cottage and a run of Vineyard Suites, from a Luxury Suite with its own private patio to rooms with fireplaces, balconies or mountain views. Two restaurants anchor the estate: The Oak, for seasonal fine dining paired with Grande Provence's own wines, and the more casual Bistro. The Gallery, the estate's own art collection space, sits alongside a pool, wine tastings and blending experiences guests can book directly on site.
On Booking.com, 102 reviews rate Grande Provence 9.1 out of 10, with staff scoring 9.8 and comfort 9.8 — guests repeatedly single out the staff, one South African visitor writing that "the property is always sparkling clean, and the staff are amazing."
