About the Property
Kruger Park Lodge is a self-catering resort on Portia Shabangu Drive in Hazyview, built around the Sabie River and a 9-hole golf course designed by Gary Player. It's run by Legacy Hotels & Resorts under its Magic Breakaway vacation-ownership programme, and the chalets are aimed squarely at families and groups travelling together rather than couples looking for a boutique stay.
The three chalet types, from two to four bedrooms, all come with a fully equipped kitchen, open-plan lounge and dining area, and a covered patio with a built-in braai, so self-catering guests can cook for themselves between game drives into nearby Kruger National Park. Three pools, a nature trail and indigenous gardens where impala, hippo and a wide range of birdlife are regularly spotted round out the grounds.
For guests who'd rather not cook every night, G's @ Kruger Park Lodge serves a fusion menu with a Tuesday Tea & Scones sitting, and the Golf Bar and Lapa runs a boma braai on the riverbank on Wednesdays.
