A 100-hectare working wine estate above Franschhoek, pairing an Everard Read art gallery and a Mullineux & Leeu wine studio with two restaurants and a spa
About the Property
Leeu Estates sits on Dassenberg Road above the Franschhoek valley, a 100-hectare working wine estate run by the Leeu Collection. Rooms, suites, chalets and villas are individually styled with bespoke furnishings, underfloor heating and marble en-suite bathrooms with rain showers, spread across twelve categories from the Classic Double to a Three-Bedroom Villa with its own pool.
Guests eat at two restaurants: The Dining Room, which draws on the estate's own #LeeuLocallyGrown vegetable, herb and fruit gardens, and La Petite Colombe, the Franschhoek sibling of the acclaimed Constantia restaurant of the same name. Wine tastings run through the on-site Wine Studio with Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines, and the estate's Everard Read Gallery sets monumental sculpture into the surrounding fynbos, with an artist-residency programme attached. A spa, pool, gym and a 140 sqm event venue round out the property.
Booking.com guests rate Leeu Estates 9.7 out of 10 from 60 reviews, scoring staff 9.9 and comfort a perfect 10 — Condé Nast Traveler placed it among its top Eastern/Southern Africa hotels in both its 2023 and 2024 Readers' Choice Awards.
