Maun Lodge, Maun

Maun Lodge is a 140-room hotel on the Thamalakane River in Maun, about 4 km from Maun airport and 2.5 km from the village centre. Its own website cites 22 years of experience and a staff of 123. It is affiliated with Botswana Tourism and HATAB, and the Botswana Tourism Organisation listing shows a Green Plus Tourism eco-certification.

Most guests stay in one of six room types: standard and executive rooms, executive and presidential suites, riverfront rooms with Thamalakane River views, and thatched chalets. Every type has air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom, satellite TV, tea and coffee facilities, a safe, a fridge and free WiFi. On site are a swimming pool, a small gym, parking and room service.

The Boma Riverview restaurant and bar serves local and international dishes, buffets and carveries, with indoor and outdoor dining and regular live music. The lodge also has conference facilities that seat up to 500 delegates. Think Africa describes Maun as the gateway to the Okavango Delta, and the Botswana Tourism Organisation lists Moremi day trips, scenic flights over the Delta, mokoro rides, boat cruises, horse riding and cultural tours for guests.
