Poseidon Guest House

Poseidon Guest House sits in Harbour Heights, above Hout Bay, run by life partners Danie van der Heever and Janni van Staden since 2015, when the pair relocated to their native Cape Town and renovated the property themselves. Van Staden works as a film art director and van der Heever has a background in graphic design and film production, and it shows in the guest house's styling.

Every room opens onto its own balcony with sweeping views over Hout Bay harbour, and the property is built around a swimming pool, braai area and guest library. Two resident dogs, Bella and Kenzo, are part of the household. Dinner can be arranged in-house, and airport transfers and laundry are available on request.

The setting puts guests close to Hout Bay's working harbour, its fresh fish market and boat trips, the World of Birds Wildlife Sanctuary, and the start of Chapman's Peak Drive, with surfing, hiking, horse riding and diving all on the doorstep.
