A boutique hotel in two historic manor houses in the heart of Stellenbosch Central
About the Property
River Manor Boutique Hotel occupies two adjacent manor houses on the Avenue in Stellenbosch Central, within walking distance of the town's restaurants, art galleries and boutiques. It has 18 rooms across four categories — Studio, Standard, Superior and Deluxe — with king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms throughout, some overlooking the pool and garden, others the Eerste River or the Stellenbosch mountain range. Inviting lounges, sweeping staircases and wide patios give the property what its own description calls the feel of "a bygone era," paired with modern amenities such as laptop safes, LED TVs and Pod coffee machines in every room.
On site, guests have access to multiple swimming pools set in manicured gardens, the @The Library brandy bar — stocked with premium South African labels such as Van Ryns and Kaapzicht alongside wine, beer and spirits — and Zest Spa Collection treatments shared across the group's Western Cape hotels. Breakfast is a continental buffet of fresh juices, home-baked breads, local cheeses and charcuterie, backed by an all-day dining menu and a pool menu.
River Manor is one of eight boutique hotels in The Living Journey Collection, which can arrange full-day wine-valley tours (The Grape), botanical-garden tours (The Fynbos) and curated art-and-design tours with ART ROUTE, as well as airport and chauffeur transfers for guests.
