Skukuza Safari Lodge

Skukuza Safari Lodge is built into Skukuza Rest Camp, on the Tshokwane-Skukuza Road deep inside Kruger National Park, about 12 km from Paul Kruger Gate. With 128 rooms across four categories - Standard, Family, Universal (wheelchair-accessible) and Luxury Suites - it's one of the larger stays inside the park itself rather than at a gateway town, so guests are on park roads from the moment they leave their room.

Rooms are air-conditioned with Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a private patio and an electronic safe; the Luxury Suites add a kitchenette, coffee machine and a second TV. On site, Amukelekani Restaurant runs both a la carte and buffet service, and Bush Braais offer an outdoor grilled-game dinner under the stars. Guests can also play the Skukuza Golf Course, which shares its grounds with a wildlife sanctuary, or book time at the AM Spa.

Because Skukuza sits inside the park, gate times matter: SANParks requires arrival at least 30 minutes before the gate closes and enforces this strictly. Skukuza Airport, next to the camp, has daily Airlink flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town for guests who'd rather fly in than make the roughly 5.5-hour drive from Johannesburg.
