About the Property
Sossus Dune Lodge is run by Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR), the state-owned operator. It has 25 units: 23 Dune Chalets with two beds and 2 Honeymoon Suites with a double bed. Each has a view of either the mountains and Sesriem Canyon or the dunes.
According to NWR, the lodge is the only one inside the Namib-Naukluft Park at Sossusvlei. Guests can reach Sossusvlei before sunrise and stay until after sunset. Sesriem Canyon is about 5 km away, and NWR lists Windhoek at 340 km.
The lodge was built in an environmentally sensitive manner, mainly from wood, canvas and thatch, and is styled like a traditional Namibian village. It has a restaurant and bar, a swimming pool and a souvenir shop. Guided excursions include a Sesriem Canyon walk, an Elim Dune excursion and an afternoon nature drive.
