📍 Storms River Mouth, Tsitsikamma, Garden Route · Garden Route · South Africa
The SANParks rest camp at Storms River Mouth, beside Tsitsikamma's famous suspension bridge and the start of the Otter Trail.
About the Property
Storms River Mouth Rest Camp is the main accommodation of Tsitsikamma National Park, part of Garden Route National Park, run by South African National Parks (SANParks). The camp sits directly at the river mouth, with a shop, a campsite and caravan park, an information centre and an adventure bookings office.
Its best-known feature is the Storms River Mouth suspension bridge, reached along the Suspension Bridge and Lookout Trail, an easy walk along the western side of the river mouth that ends in a short, steep climb to a lookout point over the mouth and the camp. The camp is also the starting point of the Otter Trail, South Africa's well-known multi-day coastal hike, whose first 2.65 km run along the shorter Waterfall Trail. The Bloukrans Bridge, home to the world's highest bridge bungee jump at 216 m, lies nearby, and Nature's Valley Rest Camp, another Garden Route National Park camp, is about 40 km away.
