About the Property
Twee Rivieren is the main rest camp and administrative headquarters of Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, run by SANParks. It is the southernmost camp in the park, just inside the South African main gate, on the Dry Nossob riverbed. ExpertAfrica puts it about 250 km north of Upington.
Accommodation is self-catering: family cottages, a family chalet and 24 campsites. The cottages and chalet have air-conditioning, a full kitchen and a braai patio. Three units are mobility-adapted, and there are access ramps and roll-in showers. On site you will find a restaurant, shop, fuel station, ATM, swimming pool and information centre.
What sets it apart is practicality. It is the only camp in the park with 24-hour electricity and cell reception, so it works well as a springboard for safari deeper into the park. ExpertAfrica suggests staying 4 to 7 nights. Access is self-drive only, on sandy roads. Night drives and guided day walks are booked at reception.
