Four thatched safari tents on the shore of Lake Itezhi-Tezhi, in southern Kafue National Park.
About the Property
Konkamoya Lodge is a small, owner-run lodge in southern Kafue National Park, Zambia. Its owners, Italian couple Caterina and Andrea, are named in guest reviews on TripAdvisor. Guests describe being made to feel like family. The lodge is described as the only one on Lake Itezhi-Tezhi, a lake of about 370 km² that was created by the Itezhi-Tezhi Dam.
There are just four thatched safari tents on raised platforms, sleeping a maximum of 8 guests. Each has a bedroom, a bathroom with hot and cold running water, a living area and a lake-facing veranda. Solar power runs around the clock. The lodge also has a bar with a fireplace, and a lapa with a campfire for the evenings.
The food is Italian-influenced home cooking, including pizzas made from scratch, served in the lodge restaurant. Activities include day and night game drives, guided bush walks and a visit to an elephant orphanage. The area is home to elephant, buffalo, zebra, roan, puku and waterbuck, and to birdlife around the lake's submerged trees. The nearest airstrip, Ngoma, is about 20 minutes' drive away, and the park's main entrance is about 50 km from the lodge.
