📍 South Luangwa National Park · Eastern Province · Zambia
A riverside safari camp just outside South Luangwa's gate, Zambia's first Fair Trade Tourism certified property.
About the Property
Flatdogs Camp sits on the Luangwa River just outside the entrance to South Luangwa National Park, near the village of Mfuwe. It offers a mix of accommodation: family chalets sleeping 4-8, seven luxury and three classic safari tents, a two-bedroom Jackalberry Treehouse overlooking a waterhole, and the Crocodile Nest tented house for 4-6 guests, all with en-suite bathrooms.
The camp is Zambia's first Fair Trade Tourism certified camp or lodge, and every night's stay contributes US$15 toward the Luangwa Conservation and Community Fund, which supports local conservation and community projects, including school visits through Project Luangwa.
Activities are built around South Luangwa's walking-safari tradition: game drives and walking safaris in the park, with lion, leopard, elephant, hippo, giraffe, zebra, buffalo and wild dog regularly seen, plus community visits to the nearby school.
