About the Property
Stone Camp is the sole accommodation inside Mkhaya Game Reserve, Big Game Parks' guided-only rhino sanctuary in Eswatini's Lubombo lowveld. Its twelve units are built in a distinctive semi-open style — half walls and tall thatch roofs on stone pillars — set along a dry riverbed in riverine forest alive with nyala, suni and birdlife.
There is no electricity: hurricane lamps and candles light the camp after dark, and set-menu meals are served around a campfire, under a sausage tree, or indoors during rain. Stone Camp holds an AA Highly Recommended rating and does not accept children under 13. All travel to and within the reserve is guided by open Land Rover or on foot; there is no self-drive access, and guests are met at a fixed pickup point on the MR8 near Phuzamoya by prior arrangement only.
