A riverside safari lodge in South Luangwa National Park, where elephants cross the Luangwa in front of the chalets.
About the Property
Msandile River Lodge stands on the Luangwa River in the Nsefu area of South Luangwa National Park, with a Kakumbi/Mfuwe address. It opened in 2019 and reopened under new management in September 2022. It is now run by the Rozestraten family from the Netherlands. Sabine is a photographer and Frank is a storyteller.
The lodge is inside the park. It says this lets guests start morning drives before other vehicles arrive, and that the park's main gate is a scenic 20-minute drive away. Elephants cross the river in front of the lodge. You can stay in a Double Chalet, a Family Chalet, an En-Suite Tent or a De Luxe Twin with two single beds. All have river views.
This is a full-board lodge. Rates include all meals, twice-daily game drives, filtered water, tea and coffee. Chef Douglas serves meals in the riverside garden and caters for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets. Beyond game drives, the lodge offers walking safaris and spa visits. It describes itself as eco-friendly and has a new water filtration system.
