📍 Mfuwe · South Luangwa · Zambia
A riverside camp with chalets, safari tents and a campsite, just outside South Luangwa National Park in Zambia.
About the Property
Wildlife Camp has operated since 1992 on the Luangwa River, just outside South Luangwa National Park. A Zambia Tourism directory listing says it was founded by Zambian-born Herman Miles and names Jacholeen and Dawie, a South African couple, as managers. That listing may be out of date, so check who is running it when you book.
The camp offers Lagoon Side Chalets, which overlook a lagoon shaded by wild mango trees, and Riverside Chalets with river views. There are also Barefoot Safari Tents and a river-bank campsite, and the pool has river views. To find it from Chipata, follow the single tar road for about 128 km (2-3 hours). At the T-junction, Mfuwe International Airport is to the left and the park and the camp are to the right.
The camp is mainly sold as a full-board safari stay. That package covers meals, two activities per full day and airport transfers. Accommodation-only rates are also available for chalets and safari tents, and there is camping too. Guided game drives, walking safaris and village tours are led by trained guides. Guests on TripAdvisor praise the river location, the guides and the warm staff.
