Woodall works as an Addo base for people who would rather be driven than drive. Open-topped Land Cruisers leave twice a day for Addo Elephant National Park with experienced guides, and private safaris can be arranged; children under six join only if a private vehicle is booked. Between drives, the Citrus Spa offers treatments inspired by the surrounding lemon, orange and grapefruit orchards, with a steam shower, sauna, vichy shower and hydrotherapy bath, and there is a gym. Breakfast is included, and the restaurant looks out over a lake with plenty of birdlife. If you are staying several nights, check the dinner menu, as one guest found the choice limited.
